The nature center also features a canoe launch that connects to Bayou Castine, which empties into Lake Pontchartrain.
The property features a large, beautiful wetland with lush vegetation and abundant wildlife. The center has a classroom and interpretive building, and even an animal lab. Visitors can learn about the animals that live in the wetlands and bayous. There's also a mile-long nature trail and a pier for bird watching.
There's also a full-grown alligator at the center, which awes and frightens visitors in their natural habitat. Zip-lining through the woods and over exotic animals is another fun activity at the nature center. You can also go to the center's petting zoo to get up close to animals. You may also enjoy.
You can also hike or bike through the surrounding area. This preserve offers several trail systems and a fossil hunting area. You can also walk along the creek and see some waterfalls. The waterfalls here are rare in this part of the country. In addition to hiking trails, there's also a visitor center. Also in the neighborhood.
