Supporting our Community and Beyond

Community Music Lesssons, Dance Classes & Charity Donations

Community Service

At LAAPA, we strongly believe in our mission to share the joy of the performing arts with our local community. In that light, we have implemented a Community Class series which are completely free one time classes that meet in a group setting at various times each year. Each scheduled class strives to help students discover their talent. For those that enjoy our community classes and wish to continue weekly, many are available as weekly paid programs (with the community class as a free trial class).

Upcoming Community & Free Trial Classes

Current classes available for either a community class or free trial class may be browsed and booked online here Community Classes. To reserve your spot in an upcoming class or express interest in a future class, please click this link or give us a call at (504) 208-2301 and we'd be happy to confirm your spot over the phone as well. All community and free trial classes are on a first come, first served basis!

In addition to our community classes and free performances by our student groups throughout the St. Tammany and Greater New Orleans communities, LAAPA supports several charities. Follow the links below to read more about these charities and to find out how you can help.

Mary's Meals

Mary's Meals is a global movement supported by people from many walks of life and different backgrounds. Their mission is to enable people to offer their money, goods, skills, time, or prayer, and through this involvement, provide the most effective help to those suffering the effects of extreme poverty in the world’s poorest communities.

Local Charities & Organizations

Each year our families here at LAAPA come together during our Christmas performances to support these local organizations with donations of toys, clothing, basic needs items, and more.

We are proud to be working with the following local organizations through St. Timothy's on the Northshore.

Basket of Hope Louisiana (all baby toys)
Methodist Children’s Home of Greater New Orleans (coats and toys)
Northlake Crisis Pregnancy Center (diapers and baby clothes)
St Tammany Family Promise (toys)
St Mark’s UMC Homeless ministry (toiletries and coats)
St Tammany Project Christmas (toys)
Giving Hope Center
