Dear Prospective Student:
Thanks so much for your interest in studying music and/or dance here with the Louisiana Academy of Performing Arts. Now in our 40th year, we continue to carry out our mission of providing students of all ages with only the finest in music and dance education. Our mission here at LAAPA is "to instill a lifetime appreciation for the performing arts within each student."
If you are new to music, dance and instruction in the performing arts, I would highly encourage you (if you haven't already done so) to read through our articles "Getting Started in Music Lessons" and "Getting Started in Dance Classes". These articles will serve as a general guide for what you need to know and consider before ultimately choosing a school of music and/or dance.
Perhaps you are / your child is an experienced student. We're delighted to help you advance your training to the next level. Students can sometimes reach a plateau which is seemingly difficult to break though. Our teachers at LAAPA use a variety of techniques to bring out the best in our students and ensure they reach their full potential.
As you explore our website, you may need additional explanations of programs offered or simply have questions. Please don't hesitate to call us (see telephone numbers above and select option 1) or stop by our school for a tour during normal academy hours.
Most Sincerely,
Ryan P. Cullen, Executive Director
